Too Quick To Catch

Thank you to the Speedy Gonzales of the Dragonfly world for allowing me to take this photo.

The story behind this photo:

Although I wanted to capture the pretty lily pads too, the main reason for taking this shot was because of a dragonfly.

There was a cute dragonfly hovering around this little pond of water, about 2 inches long, beautiful blue/green coloured body, and the long sparkly clear wings.

I took a few attempts at getting it on camera but the cute little thing proved to be a bit camera shy. Everytime I thought it would stay still, I’d point the camera, take a few seconds to focus the picture (dragonfly happily staying put) and as soon as I clicked the button – it zoomed away.

It was as if it was playing a game with me. It would fly away and then hover somewhere else, waiting for me to come and take it’s photo. Then just as I try to take a snap, it flies off like a mischievious joker.

Despite being unable to catch the dragonfly, I did manage to snap a nice picture of its home. Enjoy! 🙂

About Lily

Lily is the blogger's name of an overimaginative, positivity-powered, and potentially awkward introvert girl who likes to think she's "quirky" (though it's very possible that she's just plain weird!) She loves music, musical theatre, art & comics, inspirational stories, languages, expressive people and anything that is a little eccentric.
