“Nice guys finish last” – so they say. I dislike this notion very much. In what world should it be right for “nice” to become a negative feature in a person?
It’s understandable why this phrase can be heard so often. There are some struggles that the “nice guy” (or “nice girl”) can come across. But people shouldn’t start thinking that to “win” or to come first, they should lose their “nice” trait. If anything, this world needs more nice guys and nice girls. I think we need to spread a bit more kindness to others nowadays. “Nice” seems so overlooked yet I think it’s one of the most positive traits a person can have.
The video below was made by the popular YouTube group, Wong Fu Productions. It follows the story of a “nice guy” and the problems he faces with his “nice” title. It’s about 23 minutes long.
I watched this video for the first time about a year or so ago, but it was originally released in 2007 under an old channel name (before the Wong Fu channel officially got started). It was one of their very early works for Wong Fu Productions and has recently been re-released on their current channel.
I am a huge fan of Wong Fu Productions so if you like what you just watched, please do check out their channel for their other work.
And if you happen to be a nice guy or nice girl, please visit areyouaniceguy.com – they sell unique (and might I add, amazing!) nice guy/girl t-shirts and merchandise with the aim of spreading the message that “nice” is cool, “nice” is stylish and “nice” makes the world a better place.
Because like the Wong Fu Productions guys say: Nice is Never Out of Style. 😀
