The most wonderful thing about having your own imagination land is that you can give yourself a well-needed break anywhere and anytime. It’s an easy way to escape the world mentally without needing to go anywhere physically. It’s a great way to talk things out without needing to talk to anyone. It can be the best place to think things over in a comfortable environment that you can take with you at all times.
The most wonderful thing about inspiration is that it can come from anywhere. Anywhere at all. Everyday conversations. Media, films, TV. Songs and music. Stories. Random words strung together. And it’s amazing at how much of it you can find when you tune yourself into looking for it. My favourite story of finding inspiration comes from the founder of Life Vest Inside. Here’s a copy-and-paste a bit of text from the Life Vest Inside Wikipedia page:
…she boarded the second plane for a connecting flight; she sat in her seat dazed and disheartened. She looked to her right and a small sign caught her eye: “LIFE VEST INSIDE.” Finally, she felt comfort. Wahba explains that a life vest has the ability to stay afloat regardless of how much one may push down upon it. Our life vest, our ability to overcome our hardships, to make it through comes from “inside.” Through the kindness we bestow on others, through the kindness others bestow upon us – we help keep each other afloat in the stormy seas of life.
The most wonderful thing about being a little weird and not quite fitting in with the “normal” crowd is how much you can really connect with other “not so normal” people. The wonder of finding another person who is just as weird as you, just as unusual as you and likes the same silly “why in the world do you find that so cool?” geekery is something that cannot be matched.
There’s so much bad in the world which we can’t avoid, but today I wanted to put a spotlight on the good. Positive thinking = positive mood = more positivity in the world!
